sarah + sam 5.22.10

i just got back from an amazing adventure down south! me and chris were able to drive to south carolina {13 hours} and spend a couple days exploring before sarah and sam's big day on saturday! we strolled thru savanahh, ate fried green tomatoes, sat in washington dc traffic, shopped, ate homemade fudge, swam with dolphins {they were so close!}, ate so much honey butter, saw some amazing black oaks, made a pit stop at south of the border {which has not changed since i was last there 20 + years ago!} ate fried oysters, got ruby some souveniers at the salty dog and ate some more... it was a beautiful area and have to say the food was delicious! so now the important part.. it's saturday and sarah and sam are ready to tie the knot! they chose a stunning plantation with lots of marsh, wildlife {funny black squirrels} and of course black oaks with that infamous moss! the ceremony was set up under a tree- straight out of a movie from the south with a backdrop of the water.. perfect! the only problem, it was raining and had been most of the morning.. it was off and on and we had hoped that during the ceremony and for portraits it would be off.. well the clouds parted, the sun broke thru with blue sky and the rain stopped just minuted before the i dos.. and stayed that way for the rest of the day! the ceremony was so sweet with their dog as the ring bearer {he would continue to be a part of the wedding by barking in between their vows and at very poignant moments, including the "does anyone object?" part.. it was hilarious!} i was stung by a bee under my foot, but lucky for everyone was not allergic {i'm super accident prone at weddings!} this couple had so much love between them and you could see that in their faces coming up the aisle.. made me tear up editing the pics! there were lots of fun places for pics including a crab dock and classic southern brick house! lots of handmade touches at this wedding, including cupcakes, jewelry, welcome signs, and in lieu of favors a dontation was made to the american humane society! it was a very special day and such a loveable couple and i'm so honored that s + s would hire a girl from jersey to come all that way to shoot it! congrats guys!
