amanda + teil 8.30.09

the adorable amanda + teil were married at the rosebank winery in newtown pa on a saturday afternoon. hurricane dan was now on the move {hurricane bill was last week} and by the shore it was raining all morning, so I did not have much hope that their outdoor ceremony + reception would be without rain in pa, but when i got out there to my surprise the skies were blue {some storm clouds looming} and it was perfect! hooray for amanda & teil! now onto amanda's amazing dress.. it was short! i've always wanted to photograph a wedding with a short dressed bride! ha ha! and it was perfect, the hair, dress and bridesmaids floral dresses all gave of the feeling of a vintage inspired, outdoor wedding.. my fave! the winery was beautiful with some very funny sheep, a yellow lab {that did not leave me alone for awhile} and lots of nooks and crannies for pics. the ceremony was short and sweet {very short!} they were married under a large tree in a field.. so romantic. after the ceremony we roamed to picture spots and there was no shortage of amazing places and fun finds! when i arrived at the winery i noticed a canary yellow el camino and had it set in my mind that amanda would need to get in the back for some pics! well, as a great surprise the car belonged to a groomsman, who generously offered up the car and to move it into a nearby field! everyone piled on and i love the nostalgic feel these photos have! some of my new favorite wedding pics! the reception was held on the patio and deck under tables with umbrellas... it was very casual and sweet. tables were dressed with all kinds of vases and containers {many looked vintage}, place settings could be found in the form of paper butterflies sitting on the rims of water glasses with guests names! did i mention this was a small wedding less then 60 people- yahoo! my favorite thing was the favor table.. fresh locally grown produce to be taken home in screen printed {with tiny barns} burlap sacks.. so sweet and unique! oak wine barrels were the perfect tables for the guestbook, place cards in a box of lavender, and gifts. guests helped themselves to a delicious buffet with lots of choices including paella {which i tried for the first time and loved!} after dinner and some toasts guests were free to mingle around and play bocce ball, go inside the barn to dance or get their pic taken at the photo booth set up downstairs. the cake was cut, the coffee hot and the rain came.. i could not believe it, the rain had held out all day and started to pour after everyone had eaten and gone inside- amazing! this wedding was such a wonderful experience, i loved this couple and their playful spirit and willingness to hop in the bed of an el camino for their wedding pics! it was so much fun and so unique and i am thankful to have been a part of it! congrats guys!
