linda + richie 8.15.09

where to begin... linda + richie had hired me awhile back to shoot their wedding in their hometown of ottawa, i was immediately ecstatic do this destination wedding and by our conversations back and forth via email, i knew this couple was going to be completely awesome! so me and chris started our road trip up to canada a few days early and made a vacation out of the trip! we biked the city, went to a 1930's style carnival {read water for elephants recently and loved it and had to go!}, went canoeing, shopped, ate and ate some more, learned about lochs, picked up some french and found out what a loony was {their $1 coin} it was amazing and i was still looking forward to the wedding! linda + richie put us up at the amazing indigo hotel in downtown, where linda and the girls got ready, so it was just a trip down the hall to their room for prep shots! the wedding took place at a museum... the canadian museum of civilization, which was really spectacular! the ceremony took place on the lawn {actually the helipad!} right on the river across from parliament, it was hot but it was beautiful! linda wore an amazing gown as you can see in the pics! {and changed multiple times!}the girls each wore unique blue dresses and the guys wore bowties! we then went all around the grounds to the bridge and in the exhibits for pics! we could have spent all day taking pics there! the reception was held at the cafe and the cocktail hour outside... mixed bouquets on the tables, tea in pretty containers for favors, an andy warhol gerber daisy inspired cake and my favorite part, a handmade tree to hang money for charity and every time someone gave a donation they were able to go up and hit the gong- that's right a gong, which also signaled the newlyweds to kiss! and there must have been a lot of donations b/c there was a lot of kissing! a choreographed bridal party dance got the party started and the wedding went till 2am!! it was such a great experience and the wedding was a joy to shoot! thanks l+r! congrats!
