linz + tom 2.8.09

lindsay + tom were married on an amazing sunday afternoon at the beautiful hotel del coronado in san diego! so.. it never rains in southern california, right?! wrong, there was record rainfall in the days proceeding the wedding and the outcast was dismal. {oh and the day i arrived i had a major case of food poisoning and was terrified i would be sick on their wedding day and to top it off it would surely rain!} well... the big day arrived, the clouds parted and i woke up feeling better.. amazing, it was truly a blessing! l + t had contacted me only weeks before their wedding and asked me to photograph their very special day in california, i jumped at the chance to shoot at this resort. i knew the wedding would produce some beautiful photographs but more than that their story truly touched me and i became instantly attached to shooting their event. lindsay's dad was diagnosed with als or lou gehrig's disease about 3 years ago and so they decided to push their wedding up and have it at an amazing location where their very close family {11 of them} would be able to get away and have this very special time together! i can't express how moved i was by this family's deep connection, they were cracking each other and me up the entire day! {lindsay's dad tom was especially hilarious!} i felt honored to have been chosen to capture these moments for this family more than any other, i hope at least half their generosity and spirit shines through in their photos!

I know this family through my son Chad, who was at the wedding with the bride's sister Amy. These photos brought tears to my eyes.....so very beautiful....

You do great work, I like the different perspectives from the varying lenses (fish eye, wide angle). Sharyn, thank you for sending over the link. Your daughter and new son-in-law look like a very happy couple. The picture at the very bottom is my favorite. I can't think of a better location for a wedding.
